Hurricane Michael causes uncertainty for couple staying in Portland

No movie, only reality for couple Bill Logue and Angie Burger.

“Essentially right now, we’re in limbo,” said Bill.

They’re staying with Angie’s mom in Portland after Hurricane Michael devastated the home they once knew.

But what photos don’t show is the fear they felt while inside during the storm.

“It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. We were holding on to each other for dear life.” said Bill Logue.

“To kind of put it in perspective as the storm was amping up…while I still had cell phone power, I actually sent a picture to my mother of Bill and I and told her that if she needed to use this for our obituaries to go ahead and start planning, because I didn’t think we were going to get out of it alive,” said Angie Burger.

Satellite imagery of their neighborhood before and after the storm show greenery, now all flattened.

Angie’s brother, who is still Florida, recorded video showing damage left at his home.

The pair says they aren’t sure when or if they’ll be able to return home.

“We’ll just be here in Portland indefinitely.” said Angie.

“I do hope the country keeps, you know, Panama City, Bay County, Mexico Beach in their prayers because it’s going to be tough on everybody,” said Bill. \

The couple has set up a gofundme page to help with some of their recovery expenses.
