GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WKRN) – Multiple fire agencies battled a huge brush fire at a Greenbrier lumber yard in Robertson County Tuesday night.
According to Smokey Barn News, about 30 firefighters responded to the scene near the North Star Lumber Yard off Mt. Pleasant Road around 6:45 p.m.
Three acres and three buildings connected to the lumber yard were consumed by flames.
Dry conditions, wind and lack of nearby water made extinguishing the fire difficult.
The fire continued to gain momentum and fuel the fire from trees, structures, and leftover wood piles that are roughly 10 to 15 feet deep.
The Tennessee Division of Forestry service arrived with special equipment to build trenches and create a barrier around the fire, which is a standard wildfire suppression tactic.
No injuries were reported.
