(WFLA) - "A little boy should not have to say goodbye to his partner in crime, his play mate, his best friend, his little sister. This isn’t how it’s supposed to be."
That is what Matt Sooter posted on Facebook along with a photo of his daughter who was dying of cancer.
Also pictured in the photo was the little girl's brother, stroking her head trying to offer some comfort.
Four-year-old Addalyn Sooter was battling diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a rare tumor that starts in the brain stem.
Addy, as family members called her, took a turn for the worst the day this photo was taken.
Her father left his two children together to say their goodbyes.
Addy's 6-year-old brother Jackson rubbed her head and said goodnight.
She passed away hours later.
The heartbreaking photo went viral on social media.
