Harpeth High on lockdown as precaution after school receives tip

KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. (WKRN) - Harpeth High School in Kingston Springs was placed on a lockdown as a precaution Thursday morning.

Sheriff Mike Breedlove said the lockdown stems from a vague tip sent via email alleging a threat of some kind.

Breedlove said authorities are checking IP addresses to determine the source of the email.

Extra officers are on campus.

Students will be dismissed at their normal time.

The investigation is ongoing.
