GMN teams up with Kroger to thank TriStar nurses

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —It’s National Nurses Week and Good Morning Nashville is honoring the men and women who take such good care of our community.

There were more than 3 million nurses working in the United States as of 2016, which is essentially four times more nurses than doctors.

In a recent Gallup poll, nurses ranked as the third most trust-worthy profession.

Good Morning Nashville teamed up with Kroger to show nurses our appreciation for the hard work they do.

Jared Plushnick visited a couple of hospitals and surprised the staff with flowers courtesy of Kroger.

“I love being a nurse and I always wanted to be a nurse, I love helping people, I love being there for people during the hardest time, during surgery that’s my passion.  It’s a very hard time, not only for the patient, but for the family members as well and I only see the patient awake for a small amount of time but just being there holding their hand before they go to sleep, it makes a world of difference,” said TriStar Centennial Medical Center OR nurse Sarah Robson.

We couldn’t visit every nurse in Middle Tennessee this week but if you get the chance, make some time to thank a nurse for what they do.
