Last year Glencliff High School’s football roster was at 23 players. The Colts finished the season 1-9.
Tate Thigpen is in his second year as the team’s head coach and decided this summer he’d do something to help boost the numbers.
Thigpen started up a voluntary workout program, inviting players to dedicate some of their time to getting in shape and bonding before the season starts. And his plan seems to be working, averaging about forty kids per workout. That is the number Thigpen hopes will transfer to the field this fall.
Glencliff will also be getting eight to ten players from Stem Prep Academy, as it is without a football program. The season starts up on August 17th.
