Friends, family mourn loss of 2 killed in East Nashville shooting

Friends and family are mourning the loss of two people killed in a shooting in the parking lot of an East Nashville bar early Friday morning.

The family of Bartley “Brandon” Teal told News 2 he was at The Cobra with friends celebrating his birthday. Brandon has just turned 33 hours before being killed outside of the East Nashville bar.

With heavy tears, Brandon’s stepmother said, “He had a great love for music, he was a great kid and that he will be missed more than he will ever know.”

She said Brandon was the lead singer and guitar player in the band Terrestrial Radio that sometimes played at The Cobra.

News 2 spoke to Brandon’s boss who said he was a laid-back guy, but a hard worker. The lead man for his construction company.

Brandon’s stepmother said, “If we have a break in this case whoever shot and murdered our son on his birthday will pay. Justice will be served.”

Brandon’s father described his son as someone that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Friends of Jaime Sarrantonio described her the same way.

“She was a real light. You know she smiled with her whole body. She always had a smile on her face. She was a very generous, very kind person, very non-confrontational you know. She never had a problem with anybody. I think probably one of the worse parts about all of this is if those guys would have come up and asked her for money she probably would have given it to them. She’s that kind of person,” said Ryan Lockert, who once worked with Sarrantonio at BB Kings.

For the past 2 years, Sarrantonio worked for Aloompa as a Senior Account Manager.

Aloompa sent News 2 a statement saying, “We are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and team member. Jaime Sarrantonio was loved by everyone at Aloompa and by the many clients, she worked with on our behalf over the years. She had a tremendously positive impact on everyone she spent time with. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends at this time. We will all miss Jaime and her compassionate and joyful presence.”

One of Sarrantonio’s close friends echoed similar sentiments.

“Jaime was such an amazing soul. I’m still in shock that this could have possibly happened. She had the biggest, beautiful smile and spirit to match and she would walk into a room and if everyone didn’t know her they would want to know her is the best way I could describe it, because she just portrayed this like positivity and was just this sweet, sweet, kind soul and she is going to be really, really missed by a lot of people,” explained her close friend Amanda Raymon.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help raise money for Brandon’s Funeral Expenses.
