City officials: Franklin fire chief resigns Tuesday

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — The fire chief of Franklin has resigned.

Rocky Garzarek has been Franklin’s Fire Chief since 2004.

Franklin City Administrator Eric Stuckey told News 2 Garzarek resigned on Tuesday. Glenn Johnson, a 27-year veteran of department, has been appointed as interim Fire Chief.

We are very excited for this new chapter in the Franklin Fire Department’s storied 200 year history. We are very happy to move on during this troubled time and we are very pleased with Glenn Johnson being named our Interim Fire Chief. Glenn Johnson has been a member of our Fire Department since 1994 and is an original charter member of the Franklin Firefighters Association since 1997. Under Glenn’s leadership our department will continue to progress and provide exceptional service to the citizens and visitors of the City of Franklin.
