NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —Soldiers from Fort Campbell are commemorating a historic battle in the Vietnam War Tuesday by climbing the stairs of Nissan Stadium.
The climb is in remembrance of the Battle of Hamburger Hill.
The battle, which concluded 50 years ago this month, included a 3,000 foot ascend by U.S. troops in Vietnam.
Members of the 101st Airborne Division will climb 3,100 steps in commemoration of the work U.S. troops did back in 1969.
The climb began at 7 a.m.
