MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two women were robbed at gunpoint in Murfreesboro, and a former football player for Middle Tennessee State University has been arrested.

Alexandro Antoine, 24, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and theft. His bond is set at $36,000.

Emotional and scared, one victim still chose to share her story with News 2. For her safety, she didn’t want her face shown.

“Maybe he thought it was easy prey,” she said. “I thought I was going to die.”

It was around 5:30 Thursday morning when she walked from her apartment to her car.

“I was approached by this guy and he put a gun to my neck and he told me to give me my money,” the victim said.

Hoping the suspect wouldn’t pull the trigger, she told him where she kept her cash.

“My cash was in my room in my jewelry box, and that’s when he demanded me show him what my apartment was,” she said.

The victim said the suspect, while still holding the gun to her head, followed her inside her apartment and took $130, her debit card, credit cards and purse.

“He was trying to demand me to put my face into the bed, the mattress, and we kind of wrestle for a few minutes,” the victim said.

The victim feared the worst was about to happen.

“Yeah, it did scare me actually,” she said. “I thought I was going to die; I thought he was going to kill me.”

This was going on while her roommate was asleep in the other bedroom.

“I still wasn’t really cooperating with him and I think he just finally got tired of the fighting and he gave up and ran out of the apartment,” the victim said.

Her roommate finally woke up from all the commotion and called police.

According to a police report, four hours later, a woman staying at the Baymont Inn heard a knock on the door. As soon as she opened it, she came face to face with a gun.

The suspect demanded money. She didn’t have any, so he took her cell phone and left.

The second victim followed the man and called police. She kept an eye on him at a Shell gas station.

With guns drawn, police demanded the suspect get out of his car; he was arrested without incident.

Police think Antione is the same suspect in both robberies.

“With his build, he was very athletic; I don’t know why he is targeting women,” the victim said. “You know, it’s bad that you’re doing this to people, but why target somebody who you know, is seen as weaker than you.”

This victim now finding some strength knowing the suspect is behind bars.

“If you do the crime, you should do the time,” the victim said.

Antoine was booked into the Rutherford County jail and has a bond of $36,000.

MTSU spokesman Andrew Oppmann confirmed to News 2 that Antoine was a former player at the school but graduated in December 2015.
