Thomas Allard is charged with theft.

A Metro Nashville Police Office was near the restaurant Saturday when he heard the alarm go off. He checked around the restaurant and noticed the glass door was shattered. After clearing the building and calling the owner, the officer walked around the area and found a man, later identified as Thomas Allard. He was wearing a a gray hooded shirt and black shorts with a neon stripe.

According to the arrest affidavit, Allard told the officer he was, “drinking at the bar down the street and trying to walk off his drunkness.”

The officer interviewed Allard but didn’t have a reason to hold him so he let him go.

A while later, the officer was reviewing the surveillance video with the owner and saw the suspect wearing shorts with the neon stripe. Before the officer could tell the owner he might know who the suspect is, she said, That’s Thomas, he used to work for me.”

Allard is accused of stealing $4,800.
