MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A two-car garage was destroyed by fire at a Rutherford County home late Wednesday night.

It happened at a home on Battle Avenue around Midnight.

Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department reported flames were visible in the detached garage when crews arrived to the scene.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and were able to keep it from spreading to the nearby home.

Officials said it appears a portion of the garage was used as a workshop. The only vehicle inside the garage was a four-wheeler, according to Shift Commander Dale Maynard.

“Both the outside and inside of the garage were burned pretty good,” said Maynard.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
