MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire damaged several units of a Murfreesboro apartment building Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the Carrington Park Apartments located at 2778 Rideout Lane around 4:45 p.m.
When they arrived to the scene, flames and heavy smoke were billowing from the third story of Building K.
The fire spread quickly to the attic and burned through the roof before crews could extinguish it.
The majority of the blaze was out by 6 p.m.; however, firefighters stuck around for awhile working on hot spots.
All 12 units of the building were damaged by fire, water, or smoke.
No one was injured, and those who were displaced were given shelter, according to one of the owners of the apartment complex.
Fire officials say the fire may have started on the balcony of a unit on the third floor, but the exact cause is under investigation.
