Fire damages abandoned home south of downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An abandoned building just south of downtown Nashville was damaged by a fire early Friday morning.

It happened in the 1500 block of Fourth Avenue South around 1:30 a.m.

Fire crews on the scene told News 2 no one resided in the home but homeless people were known to stay there.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control quickly and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No additional information was released.
