Recent car break-ins in the Port Royal Park area of Spring Hill have police wondering if the notorious Felony Lane Gang is back at it again in the mid-state.
Spring Hill Police posted an advisory on their Facebook page warning citizens about these types of break-ins.
News 2 has covered this gang in the past. The FBI says the gang originated in Florida. They target places where women might leave their purses in a vehicle, such as fitness center parking lots. They bust out the windows of the vehicles and cash stolen checks before the accounts are closed.
The gang gets their name because of how they use the bank drive-thru. They go to the lane furthest from the teller to help hide their identity.
Spring Hill Police want citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
