A 78-year-old man who was injured after a deadly shooting and stabbing last week at the Governors Club has been released from the hospital.
Police said Terry Teeters was stabbed by his son-in-law Jerry Matthews at a home on Governors Way last Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, Matthews stabbed his wife, and Teeters’ daughter, Emma, when the 78-year-old intervened to protect the 39-year-old woman.
Emma’s brother-in-law, Joseph Irby VI told News 2 the mother of three was attacked after she packed up her car in an attempt to escape an “abusive relationship.”
At some point during the altercation, police said Terry Teeters shot and killed 55-year-old Matthews.
Terry Teeters’ wife and at least one of Emma’s children from a previous marriage were inside the home at the time of the altercation. They were not hurt.
A GoFundMe account has been set up. Irby said the donations will help with medical bills, basic needs for Emma’s three children and funeral expenses. Click here for more information.
