PORTLAND, Tenn. (WKRN) – A farmhand was found dead Saturday morning on a farm in Sumner County.
Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford told News 2 the farm’s owner found 57-year-old David Anderson shortly after 9:30 a.m.
The sheriff said Anderson worked on the farm located at 209 Moore Link Rd. in Portland and also lived on the property.
Anderson was found approximately 500 yards from a house near a tractor. He was wearing a coat.
Sheriff Weatherford said it appears as if he was out walking and collapsed.
His death is believed to be weather-related although an autopsy will be performed.
