Family seeks justice for shooting victim

News

It’s been almost six months since a young man was shot and killed inside his car while driving on I-65.

After all that time David Marsh’s family hopes the community can provide the answers that lead to an arrest.

“He didn’t deserve to be killed the way he was, and its important to me because I want some closure.” said Daniella Marsh, David’s mother.

Metro police said in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2017 – Marsh was shot and killed inside a white, 2015 Chevrolet Malibu when the car was struck by multiple rounds from a passing vehicle on I-65. The passenger survived while David Marsh died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Detectives with Metro Police said they have theories of what may have took place but are looking for new tips.

“The smallest details sometime become the most important.” said Detective James Rummage with Metro Police

Rummage tells News 2 that prior to traveling on the interstate, Marsh had visited Club Premium and Waffle House – both on Murfreesboro Pike.

“We’re looking for any information, that they may have been in a disturbance or argument at either of those two locations. Anything that may have happened on the interstate while they were traveling.” said Rummage.

Daniella Marsh said that she hopes sharing her son’s story will bring forward new leads.

“The person who murdered my son is still out there.” said Marsh.
