Pointe Barton Drive fire

Crews battled a massive fire at a home in Wilson County early Wednesday morning.

The fire began around 4 a.m. at a home on Pointe Barton Drive in Lebanon.

Deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office were first on the scene, followed shortly by fire crews.

The fire was 80 percent involved when News 2 arrived on the scene.

Photojournalist Jerry Barlar witnessed the roof and walls of the home collapse from the blaze.

A mother, her two children and her parents were able to escape the fire to safety. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters assisted the family while they continued to fight the inferno.

The mother told News 2 her children and parents are OK though her 7-year-old son, a self-proclaimed “Lego Master,” is concerned about the loss of his large Lego collection.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Jerry Barlar is taking up a collection of Lego to donate to the family.
