CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WATE/WKRN) — A young boy and his father are hospitalized with critical injuries after an EF-3 tornado tore through their Chattanooga home late Sunday night.
The powerful twister caused debris to fly through bedrooms, leaving four-year-old Grayson and his father Mikey Meadows unconscious.
Joe Meadows said he found the two inside their room. Neighbors and an officer came to help carry Grayson nearly a mile down the road for help.
Family members said both father and son suffered critical head injuries.
Because of COVID-19 guidelines, family and friends can only pray from afar. At last check, Mikey was responding and the family was waiting to see if Grayson could breathe on his own.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the father and son.
