With Valentine’s Day coming up, economists at Zillow wanted to find out which neighborhoods are the “most loved” across the United States.

To get that information, Zillow looked at which neighborhoods in each city got the most “hearts.”

They say this one kind of surprised them — in most cases, the “most loved” neighborhoods are full of luxury homes, but in Nashville, the most desired neighborhood is Elizabeth Park.

“Home shoppers on Zillow can look at all the homes in a particular area in a neighborhood in a particular city, and if they really like a home and want to save it — to perhaps go back to later or perhaps to share with a partner — they can put a heart on that home,” explains Zillow Economist Aaron Terrazas. “Essentially, we counted up the hearts for the homes in different neighborhoods over the past year,”

And in this case, it’s all about location.

Elizabeth Park is about two miles northwest of downtown Nashville.

“It is a relatively affordable kind of suburban neighborhood, but what obviously distinguishes it is that it is very close to downtown [and] very close to Nashville Yards where Amazon’s new Center of Excellence will be going in,” Terrazas told News 2.

Prices of the homes for sale in Elizabeth Park range from $150,000 to $400,000, and there’s a lot of new construction.

“I suspect some of the love that Elizabeth Park has been receiving on Zillow has to do with people looking at investment properties, or locals trying to buy homes in that area in anticipation of these 5000 new jobs that are coming to the area,” Terrazas said.

News 2 also learned that the Elizabeth Park area does have a high rental rate, which is also attractive to buyers looking for extra income

“It struck me that most of these neighborhoods nationwide tend to be like Beverly Hills, like swanky beach homes,” Terrazas said. “That’s not Elizabeth Park.”
