NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The popular Edley’s Bar-B-Que brand is nearing the opening of its new Sylvan Park location.
The third location is 3,600 square feet inside and features 1,600 square feet of patio space.
One of the two decks borders the roundabout at Murphy Road and 46th Avenue North.
The rumors about Edley’s Sylvan Park have been floating around for years.
And just like good barbecue, the process has been painstakingly slow.
But those rumors were confirmed last summer when owner Will Newman inked a lease.
“12 South we’re in a neighborhood, East Nashville we’re in a neighborhood,” said Newman. “It made perfect sense to be in Sylvan Park, which is also just a great, historic neighborhood.”
The expansion of the wildly popular barbecue restaurant is just one of many changes to the Sylvan Park area in recent years.
Like much of Nashville, the neighborhood is booming with investment flooding into residential and retail properties.
Kathleen Murphy represents the Sylvan Park area on the Metro Council.
She said while Sylvan Park is growing, you don’t see the overdevelopment that other parts of town are experiencing.
“We have some of the older neighborhoods as part of this council district,” said Murphy. “And I think that pattern of development being so well-established has really made it where we can keep our charm.”
Edley’s Sylvan Park is expected to open in the first week or two of June.
