Driver faces homicide, DUI charges in death of bicyclist

A Manchester man was killed Saturday morning while riding a bicycle on the shoulder of Highway 53.

Terry McCullough, 63, was hit by a drunk driver shortly after 7 a.m., according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. 

McCullough died at the scene, along with a small dog riding with him. 

Scott D. Ross is now charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, and driving on a revoked license.

The THP accident report says Ross and McCullough were both traveling south on Hwy. 53 when Ross’ car suddenly crossed two lanes of traffic and hit McCullough riding his bike on the shoulder of the road.
