Dog saved from house fire in West Nashville


A dog was rescued from a fire at a West Nashville home early Wednesday morning.  

The fire started around 5 a.m. at a home on Pennsylvania Avenue not far from Briley Parkway.  

Firefighters were able to pull the dog to safety and give it oxygen. A neighbor took the dog inside their home as the homeowner was not home at the time of the fire. 

Another dog who lived in the home unfortunately passed away.  

Firefighters at the scene told News 2 the fire began in the kitchen and moved into the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
