Danielle Breezy joined News 2 as Chief Meteorologist in July 2016.

She couldn’t be more excited to be here in Middle Tennessee, leading the News 2 Stormtracker Weather Team.

Her passion for weather started when she was a child. She grew up outside of Philadelphia and saw everything from blizzards to ice storms to tornadoes. Then, in 8th grade a local tv meteorologist visited her school to talk about the weather and from that day forward, she knew she too would be a meteorologist.

She pursued her dream by studying atmospheric science at Cornell University. Go Big Red!

After that it was stops it Salisbury, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Boston before landing here in Nashville.

Over the years, Danielle has covered all kinds of weather but she will never forget May 10, 2010. Thirty-six tornadoes touched down that day making it the second largest outbreak Oklahoma had ever seen.

After being on T.V. for 10 hours straight, she went out to one of the hardest hit areas and talked to so many people who lost everything. They were just happy to be alive and thanked her for giving them advanced warning to go to their storm shelters.

It was that day she realized just how important her job is and she promises to keep you all safe here in Middle Tennessee.

Thanks to all her experience and her Cornell education, she was able to earn the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) Seal which is the highest seal a meteorologist can have.

On a personal note, she is a newlywed, and yes, Breezy is her actual last name. She is married to Joe Breezy who does afternoons at i106.7 and is also the brand manager. They have a fur baby named Lucy and together they are happy to make Nashville their home!
