1 dead, 1 wounded in East Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Monday evening in East Nashville.

Metro police responded around 5 p.m. to a reported shooting at the James A. Cayce Homes on South Seventh Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 37-year-old Reginald Williams deceased. An 18-year-old was also injured in the shooting. He was last listed in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police said they are pursuing active leads as they work to identify the shooter. Detectives are also investigating whether the gunfire is related to another man being hurt less than an hour earlier at Riverchase Apartments on N. Second Street. 

Police said that 22-year-old victim was uncooperative with detectives and said he did not wish to prosecute the person who shot him.  He is also in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
