Woman charged in stabbing at Northwest Nashville home

A woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend Sunday morning after the two returned from a club to their home in the area of Northwest Nashville.

Monquinca Bakari, 57, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, the suspect and the victim were arguing “after a night of consuming alcohol at a local club” when Bakari grabbed a large knife and stabbed her boyfriend in the left knee.

The victim reportedly called police and when officers arrived at the home, Bakari reportedly admitted to the stabbing and said the victim “called me a name and got in my face.” 

Bond for Bakari was set at $10,000. A court date was set for March 12.
