NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman was able to escape through a window during a robbery Wednesday at her East Nashville apartment, a police report states.

Metro police responded around 11:45 a.m. to the Riverchase Apartments on Joseph Avenue for a reported aggravated assault.

The victim told officers she allowed an acquaintance, identified by police as Joey Jordan, to visit her apartment for a short period of time.

She stated the two were in her apartment when he suddenly lunged at her, grabbed her by the neck, choked her and told her she was going to die.

Jordan struck the victim in the face multiple times, she told officers.

The victim said Jordan removed her shoes and took $25 that she had inside.

She was able to get out the window of her apartment, where she encountered a maintenance worker who contacted the complex’s main office and called 911, police said.

Officers were able to take Jordan into custody.

Jordan was transported to the Metro jail on a robbery charge. His bond was set at $50,000.
