A man accused of jumping over a hotel counter and threatening the clerk with a knife is now in jail after Metro Police say the clerk saw the suspect a day after the robbery and called officers.

Jeremy Pete, 32, is charged with aggravated robbery.

Metro Police were called to the Regency Inn and Suites on Hampton Street in North Nashville early Wednesday morning. According to the arrest affidavit, Pete walked into the hotel, jumped over the counter, “holding what the {victim} believed to be a knife,” and demanded money.

Officers say Pete took money from the register and then ran away. The clerk told officers she knew Pete and recognized him as the suspect.

The next day, the clerk was in the West Trinity Lane area and saw Pete. She called officers and reported the sighting and police soon found and arrested him, according to the affidavit.

Officers say the clerk picked Pete out of a photo lineup as the man who robbed her.

Pete was recently found guilty of evading arrest and theft.
