A man wanted in Franklin County and suspected of stealing an expensive truck from Grundy County has been arrested in Marion County.
Nicholas Brady was taken into custody Monday in Monteagle, the city’s police department said.
According to Monteagle police, Brady was wanted on at least one active warrant in Franklin County and, at some point, he reportedly stole a flatbed work truck with a crane, valued at more than $100,000, from a location in Tracy City.
Heather White witnessed the arrest and said Brady was found inside of the truck on her family’s property on the Marion County side of Monteagle.
White told News 2 her mother noticed the truck outside and when her stepfather went to check it out, he discovered Brady inside.
“It scared me to death. This always feels like a pretty safe place. It’s like Mayberry,” White said.
She added, “My keys are normally kept in my car, but I took them out for some reason. He could’ve tried to come in the house. He could’ve stolen one of our vehicles. You just don’t ever know. You just don’t ever think that anything like that is going to happen.”
Brady was transported to the Grundy County jail.
Authorities have not commented on the specific charges against him.
