HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been arrested after investigators said he fatally shot a woman and wounded another person inside of a home in Centerville Tuesday evening.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Hickman County deputies and Centerville police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Highway 100 near Skyview Drive.
When law enforcement arrived at the home, the TBI said they found 53-year-old Lucy Brewer dead from a gunshot wound.
A man had also been shot and was transported to a Nashville hospital for treatment, according to investigators. His condition was not immediately known.
A detective said 61-year-old Gary Tidwell was identified as the man responsible for the shootings. He taken into custody Wednesday morning in a wooded area on County Line Road.
Tidwell was booked into the Hickman County jail, where he was held without bond on charges of criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
No additional information has been released about the ongoing homicide investigation.
