Soldier charged in December murder of woman at her Fort Campbell home

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - A Fort Campbell soldier has officially been charged with a December murder.

Fort Campbell officials confirmed that Pfc. Jerome J. Forrest was charged with one count of murder Friday under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 118.

Forrest's charges stem from the Dec. 17 death of Debbie Forrest.

Debbie Forrest was found beaten to death inside her home in Fort Campbell on December 18, according to family members.

Forrest's daughter, Kiara King, spoke with News 2 after her death.

"I looked at her as such an outstanding woman who could stand up for herself, someone who could defend herself," King told News 2. "I never saw this coming, I never saw it coming."

Jerome Forrest's preliminary hearing hasn't been scheduled yet.
