Police are investigating after a pregnant woman was shot in South Nashville Monday evening.
Officers responded to the call around 8:15 p.m. at Lafayette and Lincoln Street.
According to officers on scene, a pregnant woman was shot in her knee. The shooting allegedly started after a party of three came across another group of people they did not know.
Police said a fight ensued and as the parties separated, threats were made against the group of three and gunshots rang out moments later, striking the pregnant woman in her knee.
Officials said the woman is six months pregnant. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
