2 charged after homeowner shot during attempted home invasion in Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two people are charged with attempted murder after they reportedly shot a resident as they tried to break into a Hendersonville home Tuesday evening.

Hendersonville officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to a burglary in the area of Colonial Drive. When they arrived, they learned the homeowner had been shot.

According to police, Stephen Clark and Jennifer Zemba entered an enclosed porch of a residence and attempted to force their way into a home. At some point, they shot the homeowner, officers said.

The homeowner was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not known.

Police said they took Clark and Zemba into custody after a crash on Fairfield Road in Bethpage.

Clark, 37, and Zemba, 34, were both charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary.
