Police said the person dubbed the “Grinch of 2018” has returned some Christmas decorations that were recently stolen from a Clarksville business.

According to police, the decorations were returned to the Dowdy Financial Group on Madison Street around 9:15 p.m. Friday.

Police said surveillance video captured the lone, unidentified person leaving the decorations on the porch and walking away.

Police said multiple tips came in after local media, including News 2 aired the story.

Business owners have since opted not to go forward with prosecuting the case since most of the decorations were returned. Police said the owners believe people should be given a second chance, along with the spirit of the holiday season.
