NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman threw a drink on a suspected carjacker who jumped through the window of her vehicle Thursday in the parking lot of an Antioch motel, a Metro police report states.

Officers responded to the Super 8 Motel on Bell Road for a disturbance and arrived to a find a woman waving her arms to get attention.

The woman told police she was sitting in her vehicle, when a man jumped in through the rolled down, passenger-side window.

She said the guy removed her key from the ignition, got out of the car and circled the area, as the woman chased after him.

At some point, the man reportedly tried to grab the woman’s purse, injuring her in the process.

He was able to get back into the car and start it, as the woman got back into the passenger seat and screamed for help.

The victim stated she threw a drink on the man to get him to leave her vehicle, officers said.

When police arrived, the man apparently grabbed the car key and fled the area.

Police were able to identify the man as Marcus Harris, 27, who they said returned to the motel and was arrested.

He was charged with robbery and carjacking. His bond was set at $20,000.
