NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 51-year-old airline passenger was intoxicated when she caused a disruption Monday night on an airplane bound for Nashville, a police report states.

Nashville International Airport’s Department of Public Safety was alerted around 11 p.m. to a passenger being loud and aggressive on an incoming Alaska Airlines flight.

When the plane landed in Nashville, an officer boarded the aircraft and said she witnessed the passenger, identified as Cathy Lee Jones, “being loud and verbally abusive” toward a flight attendant who was attempting to calm her down.

Police said Jones, who smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech, was ordered to exit the plane and she did.

She was told to leave the airport property or she would be arrested, and officers said Jones became “very loud” and “verbally abusive” toward officers.

Jones, 51, was handcuffed and arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Her bond was set at $200. An initial court appearance was scheduled for next month.
