HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are looking to identify the suspect who physically attacked and robbed a 79-year-old woman in the parking lot of a Hermitage Walmart last week.

Police said the victim was walking to her car at 1 p.m. when a dark sedan with tinted windows, possibly a Nissan, and a temporary tag pulled up beside her. The suspect asked to use her cell phone.

According to a release, the woman told the suspect she didn’t have a cell phone and he drove away but returned moments later. He got out of the car and shoved the woman to the ground. He took her purse and fled in the sedan.

Investigators said witnesses saw four other people inside the getaway car, which had front end damage. The victim was not seriously injured.

The suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s.
