A driver is accused of pointing a gun at people in another vehicle following an apparent road rage incident Monday in South Nashville.

Timothy Ford, Jr., 25, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, a driver stated the suspect pulled out in front of her on Murfreesboro Road near Nashboro Boulevard, so she sped past him.

The suspect then sped back up beside the vehicle and pointed a gun at the three people inside, including a child, the paperwork stated.

One of the victims provided a description of the suspect along with his vehicle and tag.

Police said they located Ford, who matched the suspect description, at a home on Nashboro Boulevard and he admitted to being involved in a road rage incident but claimed he did not pull out a handgun.

Ford told officers he did not own a handgun, but his wife did.

No weapon was found in his vehicle, detectives said.

Ford was taken into custody and was held on a $3,000 bond.
