Metro police said a Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of a man suspected in a carjacking in Goodlettsville.

The carjacking happened Thursday at The Retreat At Dry Creek Farms.

According to a Metro Police affidavit, Goodlettsville Police responded to reports that a man forcefully took a woman’s 2016 Nissan Sentra in the parking lot.

Police said the suspect, 24-year-old Terry Mooneyhan, approached the victim and took her keys before running towards her car and pushing her young son out of the way,

The victim was able to provide police with GPS to track her stolen car.

Then Friday, Metro police received a Crime Stoppers tip containing video footage of Mooneyhan.

Metro officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, operated by Mooneyhan, but police said he fled.

Police tracked the vehicle’s GPS to New Hope Road in Cheatham County.

The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area and located the stolen Sentra.

While on scene, deputies discovered the suspect had also stolen a vehicle from their jurisdiction.

Mooneyhan is charged with evading arrest and carjacking.
