NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police have arrested the woman accused of stealing from a closed gas station in East Nashville and attempting to get inside the cash register and safe.

According to an arrest affidavit, police responded around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday to a burglary alarm at the Mapco on Dickerson Pike near Broadmoor Drive.

The business was closed at the time, but the doors were unlocked, the paperwork stated.

Officers said they observed video footage of Jennifer Lorden, 34, taking four cartons of cigarettes and a Red Bull, then trying to get inside the safe and the cash register.

Lorden admitted to taking to the energy drink and trying to get inside the safe and cash register to “turn off the [burglary] alarm,” police said.

The suspect was charged with burglary. Her bond was set at $7,500.
