The band One Republic is asking for help after one of their friends was shot while walking her dog in East Nashville last week.

It happened last Wednesday morning as the woman was walking on Moss Rose Drive around 1 a.m. Friends said she had just gotten off work.

The woman’s husband is a tour tech with One Republic and was on tour with them when the shooting happened.

The band said he is taking care of her as she recovers.

“Join us in helping this family in fighting back against gun violence. May it not affect someone personally you know. We never thought it would happen to us, and now it’s personal,” the band said.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the victim and her husband.

Last Tuesday, the day before the shooting, a man was kidnapped and robbed in Green Hills. Police arrested two men – Orlando Harris Jr. And Deion Glover – for that crime.

Police told News 2 they are looking into whether the men are connected to the East Nashville shooting and a shooting in Madison where a man was killed as he walked to work.
