A teenager from Nashville remains on the run nearly one month after escaping custody in Maury County.
On June 12, Columbia police said 17-year-old Walter Robinson faked an illness while being lodged in the Middle Tennessee Juvenile Detention Center.
Surveillance video from Maury Regional Medical Center shows that a female guard transported Robinson to the hospital’s emergency room for treatment.
While handcuffed and shackled, Robinson was removed from the van.
Police said the teenager somehow managed to jump through an open window of a Chevrolet Camaro, as the car sped off.
Days later, the accused getaway driver, identified by investigators as Carmen Bessire, was taken into custody.
The 19-year-old woman is charged with facilitation of escape.
Robinson has not been arrested. He is 5’10 and weighs about 140 pounds.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Columbia Police Department at 931-560-1670 or Maury County Crime Stoppers at 931-381-4900.
