Man with knife waits for woman to come home in North Nashville

A woman came home Thursday morning to find a man with a knife in her North Nashville home, according to Metro police.

Officers arrested Curtis Fields after they say he stole the woman’s car, crashed it and took off running.

According to an arrest affidavit, Fields was inside the woman’s house when she came home. The victim reported Fields was wearing her jacket and grabbed her around the neck. Fields is then accused of walking her into the kitchen, making her get on the ground and while hold a knife to her neck.

The victim says Fields then told her he was going to take her car and she gave him the keys. She was able to escape and call for help when she says Fields left.

Officers say Fields crashed the car on Clarksville Pike, about 10 miles from the woman’s house. Polices say he destroyed a mailbox, hit a pole and a tree. Fields was arrested after seen running down Eatons Creek Road.

Shortly after this happened, Metro police say the victim’s neighbors reported seeing Fields running from her house.

The victim was able to identify Fields in a show-up.

Fields is charged with aggravated burglary and driving while license suspended.
