Man charged with attempted murder in Murfreesboro shooting

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man is charged with attempted murder after a shooting Tuesday morning in Murfreesboro. 

Police responded to the call just before 8:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Sawyer Drive. Officers said they arrived and found 29-year-old Raymond Diaz with a gunshot wound to his arm. 

Diaz was treated on scene and then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The suspect, 25-year-old Jose Francisco Giron Amaya, was arrested and charged with attempted homicide. 

He is currently in the Rutherford County Jail.
