A man is charged with the shooting death of a Carroll County teen, authorities say.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office began their joint investigation Friday when they were called to a home in the 7000 block of Buena Vista Road.
Agents said they found the body of 19-year-old James Dale Kelly with an apparent gunshot wound inside the home.
TBI says they were able to access surveillance images from a nearby camera that captured the image of a silver car. They released that image to the public Saturday.
Tips from the public, along with the evidence gathered by authorities, led to the arrest of 20-year-old Corey Leavitt Jr.
Leavitt Jr. was arrested early Sunday and charged with one count of reckless homicide.
He was booked into the Carroll County Jail and is being held without bond.
