One of the men suspected in an armed robbery at a motel south of downtown Nashville has been taken into custody.

Bobby Joe Davis, 41, was arrested early Tuesday morning on a charge of aggravated robbery.

Metro police said a man staying at the Lee Motel on Murfreesboro Pike heard a knock at his door around 6:30 a.m. Monday and when he answered the door, four people forced their way in armed with a baseball bat.

The four people ordered the victim to hand over his money, then took his pants containing his wallet with $300 inside, officers said.

Police were flagged down around 1 a.m. Tuesday in the area of the motel by Davis, who they recognized as one of the robbery suspects seen in surveillance video.

Davis claimed he did not know the other three robbers but that he was given $5 to drive them to the motel, officers said.

His bond was set at $50,000.
