NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Neighbors in Sylvan Park alerted Metro police about a stabbing then helped lead officers to the suspect.
John Ingrum, 51, is charged with aggravated assault.
According to his arrest affidavit, a person who lives on Elkins Avenue saw Ingrum walk to the back of nearby a house, Friday. A few minutes later, that witness told officers he saw another man come from the same area, grabbing his bleeding side.
Metro police responded to the house where this happened and found the man with a stab wound to his stomach.
Another witness alerted officers after seeing Ingrum run towards Charlotte Avenue, according to the affidavit.
Police quickly found and arrested Ingrum. Officers say he had blood on his clothes.
The person who was stabbed was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
