An employee of a Madison car wash has been charged weeks after a gun was reported stolen from a vehicle cleaned at the business.

Kortnee Hall, 21, was taken into custody late Monday night on a charge of burglary of a motor vehicle.

An arrest affidavit states the victim took his car on March 12 to Mister Car Wash on Gallatin Pike North to be cleaned and left his handgun in the center console.

When his vehicle was returned to him, the firearm was gone, the victim told police.

A manager at the car wash provided video to detectives that showed Hall and another employee cleaning the car and then both of them “in the front of the car for a period of time directly in front of the center console,” the affidavit states.

The paperwork alleges the video showed the other employee holding two towels in his hand and walking away from the victim’s vehicle with what appeared to be a firearm and “a black barrel showing as the towel moves.”

Hall was held on a $3,000 bond.

Court records do not show if the other employee has been charged.
