NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating after a teenage employee at the Home Depot in One Hundred Oaks was shot multiple times outside of the South Nashville business Tuesday night.

Officers responded around 9:20 p.m. to a report of gunshots fired outside of the store on Powell Avenue, off Interstate 65 near Thompson Lane.

Police said an 18-year-old employee was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his back and leg. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to investigators.

During the investigation, officers determined the victim had just gotten off work and was walking to his vehicle, when a red, four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Versa, drove up to him. Police said someone inside the sedan, wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing, fired gunshots at the employee, striking him twice.

Detectives said they are pursuing “strong leads” and explained the shooting appears to have been targeted. They added the victim has been involved in an ongoing dispute with another teen, which they will investigate further.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
